Students may fulfill the requirement for Fundamentals of Music Theory by scoring 84 percent or higher on a placement exam administered by the Department of Music Theory, History, and Composition. Students who score below 84 percent on the exam must take the course, and they take the lower number of music electives.

2

The 28-29 credits listed in this group must be taken outside the School of Music. For more information see Liberal Arts under the School of Music Overview tab.

3

Student will use the following four courses to complete all four Perspectives (CA, HM, SC and SO) within a single Theme.

4

ICSM 10800 or ICSM 11800 fulfills WRTG 10600. Students who score 4 or 5 on the AP English Literature exam or AP English Language and Composition take ICSM 10500 or 11000 in place of ICSM 10800 or 11800. (For more on Ithaca College’s AP policy, see Advanced Placement Policy.)

5

Students scoring a pass on the QL readiness exam will satisfy this requirement. Students who do not achieve a passing score will have to take the 1 credit math course MATH 10000 and earn a final grade of C- or higher.

6

For Vocal Track an Additional semester of modern language is recommended. Students who place into level 102 or higher of modern language [via the in person exam given by the related department (the online version does not count)] meet the minimum requirements for modern language proficiency. These students can fulfill the 3-credit modern language requirement by taking an upper level modern language course or by substituting 3-credits of liberal arts electives for this requirement.

7

The DV, WI and QL attribute requirements of the Integrative Core Curriculum may be fulfilled through any appropriately designated courses, including those given in the School of Music.

8

MUED 47000 will fulfill the capstone requirement and will serve to synthesize aspects of the Integrative Core Curriculum with the student’s School of Music degree requirements.

Students may fulfill the requirement for Fundamentals of Music Theory by scoring 84 percent or higher on a placement exam administered by the Department of Music Theory, History and Composition. Students who score below 84 percent on the exam must take the course, and they take the lower number of music electives.

2

The 28-29 credits listed in this group must be taken outside the School of Music. For more information see Liberal Art under the School of Music Overview tab.

3

Student will use the following four courses to complete all four Perspectives (CA, HM, SC, and SO) within a single Theme.
