Advanced study of representative literature. Seventeenth-century works may include prose (such as moral and epistolary works, fables, and novels) and theater. Eighteenth-century works may include pieces by the philosophes, novels, and theater. Analysis will be placed in historical and cultural context. Readings and discussions will be in French.
