An introduction to quantitative concepts as they relate to professional reasoning in clinical contexts. Particular emphasis will be placed on the statistical interpretation of clinical research studies, utilizing the interplay between descriptive and inferential techniques and critical statistical reasoning. Laboratory sessions focus on developing skills for analyzing data using a commercial statistical software package (SPSS), reflecting on concepts related to data analysis, and presenting quantitative information in charts and tables, and written and oral arguments.
