MTD 10100 Performing Arts Practicum (NLA)

Supervised hands-on experience in Music, Theatre, and Dance through participation in rehearsals, performances, production crews, composition workshops, conducting labs, or other approved activities. Students will engage in reflective practice and skill development aligned with their academic and professional goals. Credit awarded based on documented hours and scope of involvement. (F,S)

MTD 10200 Audience Services Practicum (NLA)

Students gain supervised, hands-on experience in audience services for Music, Theatre, and Dance events. Activities may include front-of-house operations, ticketing, ushering, patron engagement, and support during rehearsals and performances. Emphasis is placed on reflective practice and skill development aligned with academic and professional goals in arts administration and production. Credit is awarded based on documented hours and the scope of involvement in approved audience services roles. (F,S)

MTD 21000 Performing Arts Collaboratory (NLA)

An interdisciplinary, project-based course in which students from all MTD programs collaborate to devise and present original artistic work. Students make individual artistic progress while contributing to the ensemble’s collective development. Emphasis is placed on professional work ethic, ensemble compatibility, and creative research. Students apply skills from their area(s) of focus to the collaborative process, practice time management and self-discipline, and communicate thematic ideas through artistic form. Prerequisites: 1 or more credits of the following: DNCE 11100 through 14200; MUEN 1XXXX; THEA 10700, 13100, 13300, 16000, 25500, 25600, 25700, or 26100. (IRR)

MTD 31000 Integrative Performing Arts Study (LA)

This course builds on introductory studies in music, theatre, and dance, guiding students to explore connections among the performing arts and to begin integrating perspectives from other academic disciplines. Through collaborative projects and reflective inquiry, students examine how artistic practices intersect and inform one another, and identify an outside field of study to contribute to their creative and scholarly development. Designed to foster interdisciplinary thinking, the course prepares students to synthesize knowledge across the arts and beyond, supporting the development of a personalized academic pathway. Prerequisites: DNCE 10000; THEA 10000; MUNM 10000 or MUTH 11100; WRTG 10600 or ICSM 10800. (S,Y)

MTD 41000 Integrative Performing Arts Senior Seminar (NLA)

A culminating experience for students in the Integrative Performing Arts major. This seminar engages students in critical reflection, interdisciplinary synthesis, and collaborative inquiry as they integrate learning from general education and major coursework. The course fulfills the ICC Capstone requirement and includes the development of a final portfolio or performance project that demonstrates artistic growth, intellectual engagement, and readiness for post-graduate pursuits.
